Afia Pokuaa, popularly known as Vim Lady, has responded to the ongoing issue
involving Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson in the media. The two prominent figures in
Ghana have been making headlines following Yvonne's revelation about having an
abortion for Sarkodie, which she shared in her memoir, 'I Am Not Yvonne
Nelson.'
In response, the rapper released a song titled 'Try Me.'
Expressing her opinion in a post seen on Zionfelix.net, Afia
raised a question as to why people are solely blaming either Sarkodie or
Yvonne. She emphasized that when two consenting adults engage in unprotected
sexual intercourse, they have essentially accepted the consequences that may
arise later.
Afia Pokuaa further highlighted that the circulating news
could have an adverse impact on the families of both individuals involved. She
wrote, "If two people who are of legal age agree to engage in unprotected
sex, it implies that they have accepted all the potential outcomes that
accompany it. Therefore, why should we solely hold Sarkodie or Yvonne
responsible? Unless one can provide evidence of being coerced or forced into having
unprotected sex."
She empathized with the traumatic effects that the media
attention could have on both Sarkodie and Yvonne, as well as their families,
particularly Yvonne's mother, Sarkodie's mother, wife, and sisters. Afia
advised both Sarkodie and Yvonne to grant themselves forgiveness and grace in
order to move past this incident.
