The Honorable Nana Akufo-Addo has pledged to turn around Ghana's faltering economy as a result of the ongoing hardships the nation is experiencing.
In his speech, the President promised to put forth decisive processes and steps to revive a strong economy and autonomous industrial sector.
He noted that despite the economy's difficulties, considerable advancements had been made in a number of different fields.
"As President of the Republic, I have been preoccupied with making my tenure in office in Ghana a period above all that our country lays the foundation from retailing of imported goods and raw material export to a modern, value-adding industrialized one."
Prior to the disruptions brought on by the Covid-19 outbreak and the Russia-Ukraine war, all economic indicators, in the opinion of President Akufo-Addo, were pointing in the direction of the achievement of this objective.
Ghana celebrates Founders' Day on August 4 to honor the efforts made by earlier generations in achieving independence from colonial authority and creating the nation-state.
