Akufo-Addo announces plans to revive TOR at inauguration of Chinese-owned refinery

In an endeavor to fully revitalize the Tema Oil Refinery, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has emphasized continued efforts.

This statement was made at the opening ceremony of the Santuo Oil Refinery in Tema, which is owned by the Santuo Group, a Chinese company.

Speaking on the possibility of having both the Santuo and Tema oil refineries operating at full capacity, President Akufo-Addo emphasized Ghana's capacity to refine a sizable amount of its own oil, which would lessen the country's reliance on imported refined goods.

With the goal of increasing the energy sector's productivity, Foreign Investors are invited to join forces with Energy Minister Dr. Mathew Opoku Premier (NAPO).
He praised the Santuo Group for their significant contribution to the Santuo Oil Refinery.

The Santuo Oil Refinery plans to progressively expand its capacity to 100,000 barrels per day during its first phase of operation, from its initial processing capacity of 40,000 barrels per day.

The Santuo Oil Refinery was made possible by the cooperative efforts of government agencies and traditional leaders, for which the Executive Chairman of Santuo Group, Xu Ning Quan, expressed gratitude.

Mr. Xu Quan highlighted Ghana as their second home and reaffirmed their strong commitment to the country's progress, especially in the energy sector, despite the company being controlled by Chinese nationals.
