One dead in pile-up involving convoy of Second Lady Samira Bawumia

 

One person has died in a motor accident involving the convoy of the Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, wife of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Samira is said to ‘doing well and unhurt’ in Saturday's accident which occurred at Ohene-Nkwata near Nobewam, a village in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region. It is located on the Kumasi-Accra Highway.

A Mercedes Benz vehicle, a Sprinter Benz bus, and two Toyota Land Cruisers collided in the multi-vehicle accident.
Four of the eight victims, according to sources, suffered serious injuries.

Although the deceased has not yet been named, it is known that they were part of Samira's group.
At the time of the tragedy, the convoy was traveling to the Ashanti Region.
