Taxi driver runs over police officer at Agona Swedru

Kofi Donkor, a 27-year-old cab driver, is under arrest after he ran over a police officer who was on duty at Agona Swedru in the Central area.

While Constable Ernest Opare was controlling traffic on the busy dual carriageway near the Agona Swedru Chief Palace crossroads, the regrettable tragedy occurred.

According to a police source who spoke with Adom News, the driver of the car with license plate GW 6086-22 was using the shoulder of the road.

Constable Ernest Opare sustained serious injuries to his back and hands.

He was rushed to the Agona Swedru Municipal Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, the taxi driver is in police custody assisting with investigations.
